Role in the project
ENGINEERING Ingegneria Informatica S.p.A. (ENG) is a core industrial and technical partner in the ECHO project, playing a leading role in the development, integration, and delivery of advanced digital services and solutions for community and infrastructure resilience.
ENG acts as Work Package Leader of WP7 – “Services: Tools and Services for Community Resilience – Phase 1 (Prototypes)”, where it coordinates the development of key ECHO services and contributes to their integration into the ECHO Framework. In this role, ENG is responsible for delivering initial service prototypes up to TRL5, in alignment with the technical roadmap defined in WP3 and the Knowledge Hub developed in WP5.
From a technical perspective, ENG provides advanced expertise in risk assessment, situational awareness, decision support, and geospatial intelligence, contributing substantially to:
- T7.1 – Novel Threat Monitoring, Modelling and Forecasting services, contributing geospatial analysis and exposure assessment of infrastructures and territories to multi-hazard threats
- T7.3 – Risk Assessment, Situational Awareness and Decision Support services, leading and developing analytics and decision-support capabilities combining geospatial data, real-time environmental information, and civil protection inputs
- The ECHO Knowledge Hub (KER4) and the Collaborative Resilience Management Platform (KER9), ensuring interoperability, scalability, and integration of services across the ECHO ecosystem
ENG also plays a strategic role across WP7–WP8, supporting the evolution from prototypes to full-scale solutions and contributing to the delivery of core Key Exploitable Results (KERs).
Beyond technical development, ENG is a key industrial actor for exploitation and sustainability, leveraging its strong market presence and digital transformation expertise to support the uptake, scalability, and long-term impact of ECHO results. Together with other large enterprises in the consortium, ENG contributes to shaping market-oriented solutions and ensuring alignment with operational needs of critical infrastructure operators and public authorities. ENG’s role is pivotal in translating ECHO’s research and innovation outcomes into robust, secure, and market-ready digital solutions for multi-hazard resilience planning, operational collaboration, and decision-making across European communities and critical infrastructures.
