Insiel, originally established in the 1970s to develop and implement a complete information system for the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, is entirely owned by the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Regional Authority. The company has approximately 700 employees and is among the most important ICT companies operating in the Italian public sector.
Insiel is in charge of the design, development, assistance and maintenance of the whole Regional Information System, which includes Local Administration as Municipalities, Provinces, Public Bodies, Central Regional Administration, and Healthcare systems (Hospitals, Territorial Health Structures, Welfare Structures).
Insiel implements the regional broadband network, manages the Data Center and provides cross-sector IT services, according to the highest standards of continuity, reliability and security.
Role in the project
Insiel leads the validation, demonstration and capacity building related to the piloting phase across Italy, Slovenia and Spain. At local level, Insiel coordinates the Italian pilot, located in Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, with a specific focus on natural hazards (earthquakes, heavy storms, fires, hydrogeological instability), and the cross-border pilot Italy-Slovenia. Insiel also contributes to the development of an ecosystem aimed at strengthening urban resilience.
